Californian Caitlin Simmers has just secured her place in the WSL Finals, which will be held at Lower Trestles from 6 to 14 September.

Simmers made it to the quarter-finals, which translates to an unattainable 53930 points.

This means that of the five surfers who will have to be in the finals, only the one who manages to beat them all will face Simmers in the best of three matches to decide the world title.

Caroline Marks, who also made it to the quarter-finals, has secured her place in the finals. It is not yet known what position she will have in these, but it is known that she will be fighting for her second world title.

Brisa Hennessy's passage remains to be defined, and if she manages to get into the quarterfinals she will also guarantee herself a place in the finals.
