Candelaria and Valentina Resano achieved the American national vice-championship

They made it onto another podium at an NSSA, yesterday in Huntington Beach


Nicaraguan sisters Candelaria and Valentina Resano were crowned vice-champions of the United States in the under-12 and under-14 divisions respectively yesterday in Huntington Beach, California, where the major national event of the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) is being held.

Valentina had the victory in her hands but she made an interference in the final but even so she placed second and very close to the first: Zoe Benedetto of the United States beat her by 10,40 to 10,08. Pua de Soto and Audrey Iglay placed third and fourth respectively.

For her part, Candelaria was unable to beat Sophie Carlucci by 12 vs 10,23 and left Erin Brooks and Haylee Boverman in third place.

The young Nicaraguan girls will continue to participate in the event, now in the open categories in which they compete today.
