Nahuel Cardona, Delfina Morosini, and Roberto Tito Camblor won the first edition of The Winter Wave presented by O'Neill, Granolate, and Capi Bar.

Cardona's shot on that epic Montoya on July 30 earned him the men's open title in the first wave of the winter.

About that deep and solid tube, the surfer had told DUKE: "At first I thought it was too deep, I felt the foam ball underneath in the first section, but I managed to get through and hold the line. When I got out I was a mixture of happiness and surprise at having made it, so much so that I didn't even have time to celebrate. Obviously after that one I went back for more, because we all know that when you say "one more and I'm out" and you hit it, it's impossible to get out of the water. In the end I arrived 40 minutes late to work, but happy. Thankful for the session, which I think was one of the best in recent years: Not only for the waves, but for the good vibes in the water, the swell, the friends and the smiles."

That historic day featured the entire top 5 in the men's category, with Luisma Iturria placing second, Brian Charamelo third, Marco Heiss fourth, and Felipe Barí fifth.

Another barrel, this time on a right, with Delfina Morosini, secured the women's victory. Sofía Alfonso took second place, and Jacinta Silvariño came in third.

In the junior category, Roberto Tito Camblor was the champion with a powerful right barrel. Tiziano Barindelli finished second, and Florian Oliveri came in third.

Each of the winners won an O'Neill Hyperfreak 4/3 and the rest won clothing, alfajores, and beer.
