Barbados, Colombia, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela will be present at the junior world surfing championship that will take place between December 5 and 15 on the waves of Punta Rocas, Punta Negra, Lima, Peru.

Each team shares similarities and differences; Barbados and Puerto Rico will compete with a full team, and the rest will not.

The Barbadians finished 30th at the last Junior World Championship held in El Salvador. Meanwhile, Colombia finished 19th, with Romeo Chávez placing fifth in the world; Puerto Rico 25th, the Dominican Republic 35th, and Venezuela 28th.
