Carissa Moore is the new world surfing champion
She and Caroline Marks will be in Tokyo 2020
Hawaiian Carissa Moore won her fourth world title today after her main rivals, Lakey Peterson and Caroline Marks, fell in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively.
It didn't matter that Moore lost in the semis to Steph Gilmore because with the defeat of the aforementioned rivals, the title was already decided.
The event was ultimately won by Gilmore who beat Tyler Wright who made a novel return to the championships.
With this, it was determined that Caroline Marks and Carissa Moore will go to Tokyo 2020 representing the United States.
We will expand.
