Carissa Moore will also be attending the New Zealand QS
He will not compete in the CT but he will compete in this event in which Kelly Slater has already confirmed his presence
Like Kelly Slater, four-time world champion Carissa Moore has confirmed she will be competing in the second QS 10.000 of the year, now called Challengers, the Corona Piha Pro taking place in Piha Beach, New Zealand from March 16-22, the WSL reported in its Surf Breaks.
According to sources, this is part of Moore's training plan for her participation in surfing's debut at the Olympic Games, which will take place between July 26 and August 2.
Last week, Kelly Slater announced that he would be competing in the aforementioned event, something quite unusual for the surfer who mainly dedicates himself to CT and who had announced that the previous one was going to be his last season on the tour.
This brings the number of world titles to at least 15 on the picturesque Piha Beach.
