“If I come out in one piece it will be better than anything, we are winning,” said Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz in an interview with DUKE about his participation in the Billabong Pro Pipeline.

After being bitter with a 0,5 in his Round 1 heat, he picked up enough points to qualify for the Round of 32 in the final minutes of his heat. But Carlos stressed that if he comes away unhurt, unlike last year, everything will be fine.

The big news is that Jadson Andre told him that he will not be at Sunset, which practically places him at the event: “I don’t want to say things that haven’t happened but when I was coming out of the heat, Jadson Andre was there and he was going to leave the Sunset event, so I think that maybe he could be competing at Sunset for good.”

Jadson Andre suffered a knee injury, arrived at the event on crutches and competed with a knee brace, almost advancing his heat but ultimately losing.

The Sunset event takes place between February 12th and 23rd.
