Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz is presumably guaranteed a spot in the first five stages of the 2023 world surfing circuit. Brazilian Jadson Andre has just announced that he will miss the first half of the year due to injury and is betting that he will be given a wildcard in 2024.
Muñoz was announced as the first replacement of the year, coming in at Pipe because Ramzi Boukhiam also withdrew due to injury.
The WSL has not yet made this information official.
