Carlos Muñoz runner-up in Spain
In Galicia, the Costa Rican obtained the best result of the season and entered the top 50 of the QS
Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz placed second in the Pantín Classic, the 45th stage of the world qualifying circuit, which concluded today in waves between one and two meters. He was defeated in the final by Brazilian Weslley Dantas by a total of 9,54 versus 4,10.
The result gives Carlos 2250 points, who now, with a total of 6005, jumped from position 79 to 39 in the ranking.
“I’m very happy,” said Carlos Muñoz. “This has been a difficult year for me, but this is a good result. I think that in my mind it influenced the fact that I thought Weslley was going to do aerials, so I tried to do the same thing and he ended up beating me. But that’s a good learning experience.”
"I'm going home with my six-month-old daughter and I feel like that's my trophy waiting for me so everything is fine. I placed third a few years ago here and now I'm second so I'm going back to try and win it once and for all," he concluded.
Among the women, in the QS 6000, the victory went to Coco Ho who won for the second consecutive year.
