Carlos and Brisa got their worst result of the year at the Bells CT
The Costa Rican had his second best performance of the year in the series in which he said goodbye by 0,34
Carlos Muñoz and Brisa Hennessy finished Bells with their worst result of the year, both failing to make it past their knockout round of the event.
For Carlos, the taste was bitter because in the series in which he had his second best performance of the year, 10,40, he lost by 0,34 against Connor O'Leary in a series with very close scores in which Slater came in first with 12 points.
Muñoz finished his final wave with a strong attack in a heavy section and left the question mark as to whether it would be enough but the judges gave him the thumbs down.
The Costa Rican will now need a very strong result in the fifth and final stage before the mid-year cut in Margaret River, Australia, which takes place between April 20 and 30.
For her part, Brisa had a series in which the conditions were very bad, in which she only found two waves, one with 28 minutes left that was a single maneuver and was worth 3 points and the other with five minutes on the clock that was worth 2.
The winner of the trials, Kobie Enright, beat her by 0,8 and the series was won by Caitlin Simmers who scored more than 9 points.
Now Brisa, who was eighth, will have to get a reasonable result in Margaret to ensure her position without depending on the results of the others.
