The most decorated surfer on the planet, Steph Gilmore, chose the Peruvian Catalina Zariquiey as a wildcard to compete in the world final of the Grom Search that took place in Bali a week ago.
Cata was in Panama, ready to collect points at the ALAS de Venao and fight to win the event and then, in Guatemala and El Salvador, win the open and under 18 champion cup.
But, obviously, it flew away, the situation warranted it: Being in the world final of the Grom Search is a strong step in the career of any surfer.
And there Catalina traveled, for the first time alone, she crossed half the world and was successful in her mission.
