Peruvians Arena Rodríguez and Sofía Artieda won the professional and junior pro categories respectively at the WSL Iquique, which concluded today after several days of perfect waves at La Punta.

Rodríguez defeated Catalina Zariquiey in an all-Peruvian final by 11,84 to 10,14.

Estela López and Sofía Artieda tied for third place in the event.

For her part, Sofía Artieda herself won in the youth category after beating Luara Mandelli in the grand final by 11,13 to 9,66.

Tied for third place were Estela López (who made two third places) and Arena Rodríguez (who won in the open).

Among the men, Joaquín del Castillo and Alonso Correa completed a good week of performances after placing third in this event and achieving a second and a fifth place in El Gringo, respectively.

Correa is 10th in the ranking, three places away from qualifying for the CSs.

Finally, in the junior men's category, Noel de la Torre, with his razor-sharp backside, was the only Latin American to break through the Brazilian dominance. He lost in the semifinals against Ryan Kainalo.
