Central American Surfing Championship 2021 will be held in Nicaragua

Nine categories will be held between September 9 and 12 at Playa Maderas in San Juan del Sur


The 2021 Central American Surfing Championship will be held at Playa Maderas in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, between September 9 and 12, the Costa Rican Surfing Federation announced today.

The following nine categories will be awarded and this number of athletes will be accepted:

3 Open men
3 Women's Open
2 Men's Longboard
1 Female Longboard
1st SUP Race Men
1st SUP Race Women
1 Men's open body board
1 Women's open body board
2 Junior Under 18 Male
2 Junior Under 18 female

A full team will consist of 17 surfers.

“Maderas Beach is located 25 minutes north of the city of San Juan del Sur, and its waves break on a rock and sand bottom, which creates different peaks that break both to the right and to the left,” says the statement from the Costa Rican federation.

“The Central American Surfing Games were created in 2006 jointly by all the National Surfing Federations of the Central American countries and Panama, with the aim of promoting competition in the area and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the countries,” he added.
