Gato Chila won in Galapagos
Ecuador dominated from start to finish the historic passage of the ALAS tour through the archipelago. Igo was second, Madrid and Cerda third.
Ecuadorian Jonathan “el Gato” Chila won the third stage of the 2018 Latin American surf circuit that took place on the consistent and perfect waves of Lobería, in San Cristóbal, Galapagos.
The unprecedented series of events in the archipelago had a common denominator: local dominance; Ecuador won the men's and women's Open in both events. Mimi Barona was the best in Tortuga Bay in Lobería, and Alex Suárez and Gato Chila did well in the respective tournaments.
The grand finale that took place on Saturday afternoon was an exchange of backside blows between Chila and Brazilian Samuel Igo. The result was 17,16 versus 16,33.
Tied for third place were Lucas Madrid from Uruguay and Danilo Cerda from Chile.

Another final that took place today was the junior final which ended as follows:
1- Juan Cruz (ARG) 14.67
2- Andres Duran (ECU) 10.96
3- Gabriel Vargas (PER) 8.86
4- Gael Jimenez (MEX) 7.80
And finally, the longboard champions were also defined:
1- Lucas Garrido Lecca (PER) 14.93
