Chile, Guatemala and Colombia were also present in the mega swell in Hawaii

Enter to see the waves of Polly, Herold and Izzi

The first reports of the swell that broke in Hawaii Last Saturday they showed waves of the Peruvians Martín Jerí and Alonso Correa and the Mexican Alan Cleland, which DUKE posted in this note (click here.).

In addition to them, Guatemalan Poly Kai Ralda, Chilean Christopher Herold and Colombian Isabella Gómez were also in the water. The first two in Waimea and the third in Peahi.

Herold said in his post that he got a 10'4 to go into the water, that they had a good set when entering, the current almost took them to the shore break and a lifeguard jet ski managed to take him to the line up and then get off a bomb.

For Ralda, who is a regular at Waimea, the experience of surfing a sea where Eddie would have been in the water was a dream come true. "As a surfer, you don't get to live many days with that size and if the event is held, you become a spectator," she wrote. She added: "But this time it was different, we all got to surf. It was a unique opportunity. It wasn't easy, it was heavy, big but not scary in a bad way."

"I wanted to ride one wave that day and I managed to ride two. They weren't as big as the one I had in my head and I'm not going to lie, my heart is heavy. I felt something different about myself that day and I connected with Waimea in a different way, I'm sure we all did, and for that I'm grateful," she concluded.

Finally, Colombian Gomez was grateful for having been towed in what she called her "first real wave" at Jaws.
