Chilean surfing community asks for help for Alejandro Díaz

The surfer from Arica suffered an accident and they are seeking to raise funds to cover hospital costs

The Chilean surfing community has launched a fundraising campaign through social media for the surfer from Arica, Alejandro Díaz, who suffered an accident in Santiago, Chile on July 2.

"He is in a stable condition, despite his serious condition, and is in an induced coma. To help cover his medical expenses, this campaign was launched to raise funds to cover the hospitalization process, surgical interventions, medications and his recovery," the Chilean federation said in a post.

Alejandro Díaz has participated in the local Chilean circuit and in several stages of the Chilean stop of the world tour in El Gringo, where he was known for his bravery.
