Two-time Chilean champion Nico Vargas fractured his ankle and underwent surgery
A plate and six bolts were placed on him.
Two-time Chilean national champion and QS warrior Nicolás Vargas fractured his left ankle while surfing last Thursday and had to undergo surgery, the surfer himself reported on his social networks.
“Last Thursday, I was surfing with a couple of friends in the south, and in the afternoon I did a backside 360 aerial and when I landed the maneuver I felt a sound and pain that I had never experienced before, I immediately thought something had broken,” the surfer said on social media.
Apparently, after the injury he moved to Pichilemu and the next day to Santiago de Chile where he was diagnosed with the fracture and underwent surgery in which a plate and six pins were placed.
“I am much calmer now, hoping for a speedy recovery to return to 100%,” said the surfer, who received several supportive comments from surfers from all over Latin America.
The message does not indicate how long it estimates he will be out of the water.
