China unveils its first surfable pool
Located in Anyang City, Henan Province, it bears a good resemblance to Kelly or the old WaveGarden model.
The Instagram account of the national surf team's board supplier Chinese, DB Nam Surf China and a YouTube account from that country published yesterday images of the first surf pool in the history of the Asian giant.
According to the report, it is located in the city of Anyang, with a population of five million, in the province of Henan, which has a total population of five million.
The resemblance to Slater's pool or the first WaveGarden model is great, with a lane in the centre that pushes the water with a blade and generates the wave when it meets a flat bottom.
The pool is known to cost four million, five times less than the 20 million that Slater's pool costs, Stab reported.
There is no further information on whether it is currently operating, whether it has become a training center for China's Olympic surfing team, or whether it is a commercial venture open to the public.
