Chris Brown was fired in Santa Barbara
Kelly Slater, Sunny Garcia and Bobby Martinez were some of those present in the circle where the Californian's ashes were scattered
A big and emotional farewell to former world champion and former CT member Chris Brown took place last Sunday in the port of Santa Barbara, California. Several of his teammates from the circuit were present, such as Kelly Slater, Sunny Garcia and Bobby Martinez.
Everyone participated in a large circle where Brown's ashes were scattered into the sea in the presence of his daughter and parents.
The surfer drowned on January 19 after falling off a cliff and being unable to move due to his injuries. The official investigation revealed that Brown was under the influence of a considerable amount of methamphetamine.
Brown was the 1988 ISA Junior World Champion, a member of the elite of the World Surfing Tour and the 1994 U.S. Champion. He had retired and devoted himself to sea urchin fishing.
