Colombia, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Venezuela are not traveling with a full team, but they are bringing a lot of talent

Do they stand up to Slater or Stephanie?

Note presented by the International Surfing Association

Teams from Colombia, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Venezuela confirmed their participation in the ISA World Surfing Games that will take place in Miyazaki, Japan between September 7 and 15. They will be in one of the best world championships in history, with talents, but with incomplete teams.

Brothers Giorgio and Izzi Gómez will represent Colombia, Bryan Pérez will represent El Salvador, Ramón Santiago and Tia Blanco will represent Puerto Rico, and Juampi Caraballo will represent Venezuela.

These teams have talent of all kinds. The Gómez brothers have won medals in SUP world championships but stand out as shortboarders. Bryan Pérez has just won bronze in Lima 2019, Tia Blanco has won this same championship twice, and Juampi Caraballo was part of that historic Venezuelan team that made the top 10 with an incomplete squad in 2016 in Costa Rica.

Any of these could surprise and confront the members of the CT who will be present.

Can Slater beat Bryan in Japan?
