Competition awards $20.000 to the best aerialist on the planet
The Planetary Punt has already opened its competition period. A maneuver pays 20 thousand greenbacks
For one year (from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019), surfers from around the world will be able to compete through their Instagram accounts to win the $20.000 prize for the “best aerial in the world.”
The competition has only one category and the criteria for determining the winner is the combination of height, technique, magnitude and distance travelled in the air. The prize will be awarded to the most amazing aerial and all the details are here: www.lifeatsea.com.
Tim Ward, founder of Life at Sea and creator of the contest, told Stab: “I’ve been a lifelong fan of the surf and skate phenomenon (…) I hope this motivates surfers to do something pretty crazy so people can watch their progress throughout the year.”
To participate, anyone who has completed a significant aerial must post it on Instagram and tag @lifeatseaco using the hashtag #planetarypunt.
Last year, the winner of the first edition of the event was Californian Noah Wegrich, who did an extraordinary aerial that can be seen in the following video:
