Confirmed: This year's Pan American Games will be in Punta Rocas, Peru

Bodyboarding returns to the Pan American selections; the event is scheduled for October 2-13

The Pan American Surfing Championships of 2024 will be held at the Punta Rocas High Performance Center between October 2 and 13, the Pan American Surfing Association informed its member federations in a statement sent by the Association.

Each team will have a maximum of 22 competitors, 11 women and XNUMX men, composed as follows:

-Shortboard – 3 women / 3 men
-Longboard – 2 women / 2 men
-Stand Up Paddle Surf – 2 women / 2 men
-Stand Up Paddle Technical Race (6K) - 2 women / 2 men
-Bodyboard Prone - 2 women / 2 men

"Registrations will be received only through the respective National Federation, by filling out the corresponding form, at least 50 days in advance in numerical form (August 13) and 20 days in nominal form (September 12)," says the statement, which reports that the registration fee per competitor is 150 dollars.

“International Surfing Association (ISA) sporting rules, tournament competition rules and applicable ISA, PASA and PanAm Sports regulations will apply where applicable,” it concludes.

The last time the Pan American surfing games were held in Punta Rocas was in 2018. The following year, the Lima 2019 Pan American Games were held there.

After the pandemic, the Pan American Games were held in Playa Venao, Panama in 2022 and in Santa Catalina, also in Panama, in 2023.
