Japanese-Australian Connor O'Leary won stage 10 of the CT at JBay and took his first career victory on the tour, becoming only the third goofy footer in history to win on the wave.
O'Leary defeated Yago Dora, who, with the defeat of Jordy Smith and Kanoa Igarashi, took the yellow jersey of the leader and will go to the final stage of the regular season in Teahupoo as the leader.
This is the first time Dora has led the rankings, and she has also secured a spot in the finals.
Filipe Toledo and Griffin Colapinto tied for third place, and the fight for the four remaining spots in the finals was heated. The top 10 is as follows:

Meanwhile, among the women, Hawaiian Gabriela Bryan's power surfing shone once again, connecting well with JBay's perfect walls to win for the third time this year and defeat the leader of the ranking, Molly Picklum.
The two of them and Caitlin Simmers were guaranteed places in the finals.
The fight for the remaining two spots is also heated, with the top 10 as follows:

Mexican Marco Mignot, the best Spanish speaker at the event, was unable to defeat Filipe Toledo in the quarterfinals, defeating him 15-12.
Now, Mignot has climbed three places and is now 17th in the ranking.
