Constanza Fernandez from Chile and René Gough from the Dominican Republic made it to Lima 2019
The Chileans thus added a fifth participant and the Dominicans the second in the debut of surfing in the largest multi-sport tournament in America

Chilean Constanza Fernández and Dominican René Gough secured their place in Lima 2019 last Sunday after Brazilian Chloe Calmón, Peruvian Piccolo Clemente and American Cole Robbins secured their place in the event through the ISA World Championships held in Biarritz, France.
The qualification criteria establishes an ISA-PASA-ALAS hierarchy, so if a surfer from the countries already qualified achieved the position through the ISA, a place would become vacant.
In the order of eligibility (one per country) in the test held in December, Fernández and Gough were placed ninth, being the first who failed to secure a place in the Pan American Games.
With this, Chile added one more athlete to those already qualified for Lima 2019: Guillermo Satt (open men), Jessica Anderson (open women), Rafael Cortez (longboard) and Carla Pérez (SUP Race).
And the Dominican Republic will now go with two since Alexander de la Cruz had obtained his ticket in SUP Surf.
