Costa Rican team goes armed with hands and teeth to the Pan American Surfing Championship

The combined total of 16 includes a CT, three QS top 100s, ISA top 10s and a long etcetera.


The Costa Rican surfing federation has just announced the team that will go to Punta Rocas to compete in the Pan American Surfing Games that will take place in Punta Rocas from December 2 to 9.

Costa Rica is traveling with the best of the best in all divisions, including CT newcomer Brisa Hennessy, her friend Leilani McGonagle, the two male stars Carlos Muñoz and Noe Mar McGonagle, and a long etcetera.

Team coach Jim Hogan is yet to decide on the four women's longboard and women's SUP Surf categories, but he will do so closer to the date, the statement said.

One of the biggest stars of Latin surfing, Carlos Muñoz, reflected on the upcoming challenge: “(I feel) very motivated and happy to be part of the National Team, from what I see we have a great team. Personally, I am grateful to Jim and the federation for the call to represent the country, which I always do with great determination. With this team we have what it takes to win these games, so we are going all out,” said Carlos Muñoz.
