Cristian Merello won the wave and the wave of the year
Ibarra, Cerda and Díaz with Canelo won the rest of the awards
Pichilemino Cristian Merello won the 2019 edition of The Wave of the Year in Chile in its wave and wave of the year categories for two different waves surfed in his beloved Punta de Lobos.
In addition, Merello himself won the Punta de Vista category for having filmed in the waves of Punta de Lobos.
The wave of the year was a deep tube that he rode for a long time and the wave was an air drop that completed the surfing experience.
The rest of the awards went to Danilo Cerda, who won the public vote by a landslide for El Gringo, and Chacha Ibarra won the award for the worst hit of the year.
The photo of the year was won by Nicolás Díaz from Iquique who, together with Nico Canelo, created magic in his native Iquique.
