Daniella Rosas achieved a historic victory in the QS of Argentina
In the final, she beat Chilean Lorena Fica, who also achieved the best result of her life on the tour. Roberto Araki placed third in the men's category, his first podium on the world circuit.

Peru's Daniella Rosas claimed her first ever QS victory today in Mar del Plata, where the Rip Curl Pro Argentina was held. She beat Chile's Lorena Fica in the grand final, who also achieved the best result of her career.
It was a series of few waves in Biology, the final result, after half an hour, had Rosas winning with 5,90 versus Fica's 5,10.
“I am very happy to win here in Mar del Plata, it is my first victory in a WQS and I am pleased. I trained a lot, luckily I managed to win and now I have to continue a year with several events ahead of me,” Rosas said in an interview with the webcast.
Tied in third place were Dominic Barona (who couldn't break the historic three out of three) and Ornella Pellizzari (who couldn't break the curse of a local team winning at home).
Among the men, Roberto Araki made history for Easter Island. Never before in the history of Rapa Nui had a local climbed onto the QS podium. He did so based on fluid and radical surfing, his determination and a good choice of waves. He was unable to beat Lucas Vicente in the semis, who beat him by a not-so-great margin: 14,10 vs 12,30.
Argentina was disappointed when its youngster, Lele Usuna, was defeated in the quarterfinals by an inspired Igor Moraes. The same happened to Peru when Lucca Mesinas was beaten by Lucas Vicente and to another Chilean, Gustavo Dvorquez when he was defeated by Matheus Navarro.
And the tournament victory was precisely Navarro's, who was in amazing harmony with the waves of Mar del Plata throughout the entire championship. He found the good ones and ripped with a board that worked impressively for him. In the final, Lucas Vicente gave him work but the boy insisted and insisted and ended up finding the winning left.
