Daniella Rosas and Sol Aguirre secured their place in the WSL Junior World Championships

As happened in 2016, two Peruvians will be the only representatives from South America in the tournament that will be held in Taiwan

Peruvians Daniella Rosas and Sol Aguirre will represent South America at the World Surf League championship in Taiwan, which will take place there in December.

Everything was decided today at the Sao Chico Eco Festival in Santa Catarina, Brazil, where Rosas managed to get into the grand final and Aguirre into the semi-final. Last week they had placed second and first respectively in the Lobitos stage, which guaranteed them the two spots in Peru.

By placing third in Brazil today and first in Lobitos last week, Sol Aguirre guaranteed herself 1560 points. Meanwhile, Daniella Rosas added 750 points last stage and by making it to the final she guaranteed herself at least another 750 points. This makes both of them unreachable by the rest of the competitors.

Daniella Rosas will have to face Argentina's Catalina Mercere in the grand final. If she wins, she will also be crowned South American champion.

The WSL Junior World Surfing Championships bring together the 18 best young surfers in the world who qualify for each region. This year it will take place between December 1 and 10 in Taiwan.

South America has two spots for the tournament and on this occasion, as in 2016, two Peruvians will qualify (that time, Melanie Giunta and Milluska Tello traveled).
