Peruvian Daniella Rosas won the QS 3000 that ended yesterday at Praia do Francés, Alagoas, in fun waves. Also, Peruvians Arena Rodriguez and Sol Aguirre made it to the semi-finals in the event, as did Argentine Ignacio Gundensen.
Rosas defeated Laura Raupp of Brazil in the grand final, who was undefeated on the regional circuit this year.
“I haven’t experienced this incredible feeling for a long time actually and Brazil is my second home. I’m really happy to win here at Praia do Francês. I’ve never been here before and it’s a super special place with good waves every day and I’m super happy to have won the championship,” Daniella told WSL press.
The Peruvian beat Raupp by 9,93 pts (5,43+4,50) to 8,63 pts (4,40+4,23) and earned $8000 in addition to the 3000 points that took her to second place in the ranking that classifies the challengers.
There was Peruvian dominance in the women's category, as three of the top four were from Inkateam. Arena Rodríguez and Sol Aguirre reached the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, with a destructive performance all week, Nacho Gundensen left Alagoas with a third place that earned him a good share of points.
