After a life dedicated to the waves of Punta de Lobos, Diego Medina won his first Ceremonial on the wave where he achieved the main glories of his career. Four minutes into the grand final he surfed a 7,75 that remained the best wave of the final and which he later backed up with four points that made it unreachable.

The king of Punta de Lobos, Ramón Navarro, came close. Tudela surfed a wave at the end that put him in third place and Merello fell on the only wave he surfed and the 0,50 he obtained put him in fourth place.

Vinicius dos Santos of Brazil and Morris Tapia of Chile failed to surf any waves and tied for fourth place.

When the double bugle sounded, Medina let out all his joy and jumped off his board, letting it be known how important this great victory is to him.

After winning, Medina said: "I'm very happy, it's a very important championship, I've been looking for this victory for a long time, I've surfed this wave a lot, I know it very well and being able to share this championship with all my friends and the public is something super special. It's priceless that my wife and two children have seen me."
