DUKE is going to Paris 2024 and, once again, invites you to be part of it
This is what we propose to make another dream, another madness, come true.

Once every four years I take the liberty of betting on people, in addition to looking for brands and institutions that support me, in order to be able to pay the expenses of covering the Olympic Games from the venue, and Paris 2024 will not be the exception.
It was really hard for me to make the decision this time. I get sensitive with age; I really don't know what it is exactly, maybe I miss my children when I travel, but well, if I do this, let it be with everything.
With everything.
Always with everything.
I know that they, Felipe and Juan, will be proud of their father when they find out that he undertook these crazy things to do something as strange as covering surfing.
It was a pleasant challenge to reach Tokyo 2020 in 2021 THANKS TO THE HELP OF READERS AND BRANDS, coming out of the pandemic, with 500 tests and papers, but I think it was extremely fruitful for those who write as journalists and (I hope) for those who followed it all through DUKEsurf.com.
Paris 2024 has some interesting additions due to the remoteness of the place and at the same time its compactness: A good part of the 48 surfers will be staying either on a cruise or in the little houses in Teahupoo and surrounding areas; the famous tower; the time change that will put surfing in the spotlight without competing with other sports and, mainly, that the wave is one of the most killer and perfect waves in the world.
Everything makes it necessary and impetuous, and it is a great desire to go to Tahiti to cover that tournament. And, of course, I hope the same happens to the reader of DUKE. That is, that they feel that it is good to have the media that is still in Polynesia, closely following everything that happens with Olympic surfing.
I am not ashamed to create this crowdfunding because I see that all the media outlets, from the largest to the smallest, are now betting on their readers to stay afloat: from La Diaria in Uruguay to the New York Times, including The Guardian in England.

But what is on offer, just like last time, is more of a joint project, a partnership with readers who will help DUKEsurf.com get to Paris 2024. So yes, maybe I'm a little embarrassed and that's why I'm offering a set of interesting things in exchange for giving a hand with this adventure:
-For $15 you get your “DUKE at Teahupo'o – Paris 2024” sticker.
-For $50 you get the aforementioned sticker and the DUKE cap that will have the same thing printed on it.
-With 100 you will receive the DUKE sticker, cap and t-shirt, and in all published articles your name will appear as one of the sponsors of the trip, or, rather, as a thank you for lending a hand to make it possible.
And, we add in this item that I will deliver a souvenir related to Teahupoo, Tahiti, Paris 2024... It will be a detail, obviously, but a nice detail.
-Finally, for 500, we do, within what is legally and morally admissible, whatever is possible. Including a sticker, cap, t-shirt and a mention in the notes and a gift that will be more expensive than the one mentioned in the previous paragraph (know that ethics always guides us, do not abuse it).

Of course, brands that want to be part of this project are also welcome and can write to me (hola@dukesurf.com) and, of course, anyone who sees a business potential in this can contact me. Except for pretending to be an influencer poser, I am at your service for anything that helps in the objective of making the trip a reality (I repeat: remember the moral and ethical limits).
And, from now on, I publicly thank the International Surfing Association that already gave me a hand with this madness.
I hope there are many more people I can thank when, in the first days of August, I am excited to wrap up another coverage of such an important event.
Who will win the gold this time? Hopefully we'll tell you from there.
