Ecuador confirmed a strong team for the Pan American Games
They are traveling with the defending champion in the men's open, looking to improve on last year's tenth place.

Ecuador confirmed its team for the 2026 Pan American surfing games, which will take place between April 24 and May 3 on the waves of Playa Venao, Panama, the federation itself reported on its Instagram.
“Ecuador arrives with a high-level team, led by Alex Suárez, the current Pan American champion in the Open men's category, who will seek to defend his title,” the statement said.
They add: “A powerful team that travels with the hope of upholding the name of Ecuador and positioning itself among the top 5 countries on the continent.”
The Ecuadorians have a lot of experience and also youth, with Mimi Barona, the current ALAS champion Mimi Barona, the revelation of 2025, Bruce Burgos, among others.
The team placed tenth in the 2025 edition of the event that took place in Guatemala.
