Ecuador confirmed a team of three surfers to represent their country at the ISA World Longboard Championships to be held in Biarritz, France, from May 26 to June 2.

Isidro Villao, Carlos Velez and Michell Soriano will be the Ecuadorians fighting for gold and the best possible position in the world ranking in the waves of Cote des Basques.

Ecuador did not participate in the last World Cup in China, but it did participate in the 2013 edition in Huanchaco, Peru, where it achieved a very respectable 12th position. The same three participants were present at that time as this year.

Velez and Villao finished 22nd and Soriano 11th.
