Eddie has returned to yellow alert level, the organization reported in an Instagram post.

“Due to the direction of the swell and wind conditions for January 11, 20223, we are cancelling Eddie and going yellow,” says the statement signed by Clyde Aikau, Eddie’s brother. It ends: “Is the bay making the call?”

Ramón Navarro from Chile, who saw his flight cancelled and said that the only hope he had was that the event would not take place tomorrow and the waiting period would remain open, also shared the news.

“It’s crazy how fast the day went by,” Navarro said. “It means that the event for tomorrow is cancelled and the chances are that it will take place the day after tomorrow are very slim, so we have to wait for another storm.”

“The best news for me,” said Ramón, who said that he is still planning to go to the islands to train and will wait for the swell to come and the event to take place.
