A new statement from the Peruvian surfing federation published on Saturday afternoon expands the names of those preselected to go to the ISA World Surfing Games in El Salvador, adding six athletes.

The original list included 25 men and 10 women, while the updated list includes 28 and 13 respectively.

The change in the list is not announced by FENTA, the new list was published encouraging those shortlisted to register for training dates before the expiration date which is today.

The new members of the list are Gabriel Villaran, Alvaro Malpartida and Andrés Cruz in the men's branch and Camila Sanday, Luna Chuman and Mar Pérez del Solar in the women's branch.

Two-time ISA medalist Gabriel Villarán had posted on his Instagram that “For the new surf federation @fentasurfperu it is obvious that I am not qualified, since my name does not appear on the new list for the pre-selections for the ISA El Salvador 2021 World Championships.”

Meanwhile, Mar Pérez del Solar, who was not on the original list and had inquired about the selection criteria for that preselection, has now been included.
