FENTA responds: “The federation has fully complied with the regulations”
In a video, the secretary of the institution, Denis San Román, speaks about the electoral process, statutes and the clubs that were eligible to vote
Denis San Román, secretary of the National Federation of Tabla, responded to accusations made by the opposition of irregularities in the electoral process that concluded on November 4 and that elected the ruling party as the winner.
“The elections were held in accordance with the current rules and regulations established by the Peruvian Institute of Sport,” San Román begins by saying, clarifying that the current statute from 2006 was used as a regulation and not from 2016 because, he says, the latter has not been approved by the IPD, “it is not found in Renade (National Sports Registry) or in public records. Therefore, the statute that must govern is that of 2006.”
San Román reports that it was based on this statute that the relevant communications were sent, elections were called and the same were regulated. “The federation has fully complied with the regulations,” he assures.
He added that there was an official from the National Office of Electoral Processes and another from the Ministry of the Interior at the scene.
Regarding the points that the opposition has complained about, San Román points out that the lists can be submitted five days before, that this closed on October 30 and that by that date the clubs that wanted to vote had to have their registration in public records and be up to date with their membership fees. One of the complaints made was that some clubs could not vote because they were not authorized.
“It is the real and strict way in which a club has the correct documentation and therefore has a voice and vote in an election,” says San Román.
There was a second list that acted as opposition led by Ricardo Kaufman.
That same night, reports circulated on WhatsApp that the election had had certain irregularities.
The new government team will be in charge of FENTA between 2025 and 2028.
