Filipe did not like the judgment and Italo the Brazilian commentator

"I don't know what else I have to do to get higher scores," Toledo said; "WSL Brazil commentator, American pimp," Ítalo told his broadcast group.

Tensions rose on Day 2 of the Salvadoran CT with the two surfers who achieved the highest scores of the day: Filipe Toledo, who was critical of the judges, and Italo Ferreira, who expressed dislike for the comments of one of the three WSL Brazil commentators.

After leaving the water, Toledo was asked what he'd do to secure another victory in El Salvador, and he responded bluntly: "That's a very good question. I thought my three waves would be above eight points. The first one, which is OK, was the first of the series, but I thought the next two were better than the first, especially the last one. The variety, the speed, the aerial in the middle, the blow tail at the end... But yeah, I don't know what else I have to do to get higher scores; I'd love for them to go in the water and do the same."

Interviewer Rosie Hodge asked him what he's going to adjust from now on, and he replied: "Nothing really. I did what I had to do, I said what I had to say here in the interview, and now I'm going to come back and enjoy my friends and surf again when the next series comes around."

Minutes after leaving his series, Italo Ferreira sent a message to his 16.800-member Instagram community, "My World," which read: "WSL Brazil commentator sucks damn gringo balls. Wants to secure his position and remains neutral! All he talks is shit."

The message was deleted after a while without any explanation.
