Finals will be in Fiji, JBay returns and Sunset will be swapped for Abu Dhabi pool
A sneak peek at the changes the tour will undergo in 2025
The 2025 tour finals will “most likely” be at Cloudbreak, Fiji, Stab reported hours ago WSL source said. In addition, the Jeffreys Bay, South Africa stop will return to the calendar and the Fiji leg will likely be swapped for the new Kelly Slater-powered wave pool in Abu Dhabi, the statement added.
According to the aforementioned website, they have called to book Namotu and Tavarua, the only two places to stay in Fiji in September next year, and they are all booked up, which would confirm the long-awaited change and the end of the finals at Lower Trestles.
On the other hand, there is no agreement with the Sunset phase, which saw its audience drop by 48% compared to Pipe, and therefore other alternatives are being sought.
Slater's pool located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates appears to have already been determined as the replacement.
Finally, the note reports that the highly valued Jeffreys Bay stage, which was suspended this year due to conflicts with the calendar for the Olympic Games, in addition to being the most expensive stage of the year, costing approximately four million dollars, will return in 2025.
According to the note, the official schedule will be announced in the following weeks.
