Fioravanti controversial: “My watch didn’t work from start to finish and that’s serious”

“I don't want to speak badly of the WSL or Apple, what they are doing is great,” he said.

Amid the glitzy footage showing off the WSL's newest addition to the tour, the Apple Watch, Italy's Leo Fioravanti dropped a bombshell on the stream by declaring that his watch did not work throughout his series.

After winning her knockout heat, ahead of Carlos Muñoz and Matthew McGillivray, in the interview: “And I want to say that my damn watch wasn’t working, and that’s pretty serious, my watch wasn’t working. Not that I want to talk bad about the WSL or Apple, what they’re doing is great, they’re trying to bring some technology into our world, but if my watch isn’t working from the beginning to the end and I have to call the time… I’m used to having a watch with me from start to finish in heats, we’re fighting for our careers. So I hope they fix it because my watch wasn’t working from start to finish and that’s serious.”

Unlike what it usually does at events, the WSL deleted the entire broadcast from YouTube and does not allow viewing the entire series 4 in the replay.

Stabmag left the recorded record of the Italian's sayings.
