Five special moments from the Ballito Pro so far

The first 10.000m of the year, the Ballito Pro, started with a day of good waves yesterday and today there was the usual and hard-fought tear, although, with good conditions in the morning, not so good in the afternoon.

Miguel Tudela, Carlos Muñoz and Noe Mar McGonagle have already managed to get a foothold in round 3 and guarantee themselves a not inconsiderable 1000 points. Aritz Aranburu, Manuel Selman, Marco Giorgi and Lele Usuna are still to compete (these last three went through round 1 of the competition).

Cristobal de Col, who stayed in the trials, Santiago Muñiz, who fell in round 1, and Alonso Correa, who did not make it through his round 2 heats, were not as lucky.

Below are five moments from the tournament.

Noe Mar knows how to win with his main weapon, his backside, but his powerful turns are not far behind. The Costa Rican won his series and moved on.
Miguel Tudela is achieving a great maturity in competition, it is difficult to see him fall in his tournament debuts. He is ranked 13th and if he makes a mistake he will be one and a half feet from the CT.
Lucca Mesinas put in a good performance against Jack Freestone and Wiggolly Dantas, but it wasn't enough. What was clear was that his backside attack is still one of the best in the world.
Manuel Selman grabbed this gem in the final minutes of his heat and sent Marc Larcomare packing. That backside flow is scary.
Cali Muñoz was very, very solid in his heat against Jadson Andre, Pat Gudauskas and Jordan Maree, winning it with more than 13 points and one of the best moves so far in the event.
