Brisa won her round 1 heat for the first time this season

The tough conditions in Margaret River suited the Costa Rican; she left Isabella Nichols in second place and sent Stephanie Gilmore to the repechage

Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy achieved, for the first time in the 2020-2021 CT season, a victory in round 1 after beating Isabella Nichols and Stephanie Gilmore in the powerful waves of Margaret River's Main Break where stage 4 is being contested.

Hennessy combined 11 points (5,17 + 5,83), Nichols added 7,93 and Gilmore 7,13. To achieve this score he combined two waves of two frontside maneuvers.

By the end of the series, both Gilmore and Nichols needed more than 6,5 to surpass it.

In the previous two stages, Brisa managed to get into Round 3 through the elimination round in Newcastle and Narrabeen and then placed second in Round 1 at the Honolua event.

With three ninth places under her belt, the Costa Rican sits in 15th position in the ranking, tied with Macy Callaghan and Nikki Van Dijk.

He will now wait for the results of round 2 to see who he will compete against.
