Former CT Alejo Muñiz paid tribute to the legendary Argentine Alejo Abramidis

He used his board in a video that is coming soon

In a post on Instagram made four days ago, former CT member Alejo Muñiz, Brazilian with Argentine parents, said that in a next video he will be using boards from three of his biggest idols: Taj Burrow, Mick Fanning and Alejo Abramidis.

"These are the boards I surfed yesterday and they are very important in my life, idols that I have and who used them at certain times in their careers," Muñiz said in the post.

Abramidis's is a Dennis Pang with very eighties pads.

Alejo's parents are Argentines who moved to Brazil and that's why the surfer competed in the world tour in Brazil. His father, Ruben, was even a coach for the Argentine surfing team.

Alejo says that it is named after Abramidis.

In an article published in DUKE, which covers the life of another legendary Argentine, Aguja, Santiago Di Pace, he talks about Abramidis: "He was the only one who came from Hawaii with photos of Backdoor, Sunset, and he came from Indonesia... He traveled with Daniel Balda, who was Garret and Liam McNamara's photographer. We became friends. He told me: "Aguja, you have to come to Hawaii." One time he brought me a board, a Dennis Pang, and he took me as a friend. He didn't want anyone and he chose me as a friend and took me surfing on beaches here that I had never been to: La Paloma, Off the Wall, La Maquinita."

And he adds: "When I got a good one, I would be angry. I remember one time we went to race Off the Wall and I got a tube and he yelled: 'Son of a bitch, Aguja, son of a bitch!' He yelled at me. Because he was a bastard and he didn't like you to catch better waves than him. Alejo died of HIV, at that time they were injecting themselves and he got infected."
