France have won the ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship for the first time in history, doing so early, before the finals go into the water. With today's results, there is no possible combination that can take the team title away from Les Bleus.

According to DUKE's calculations, in the worst possible scenario, France will tomorrow reach 14768 points, which cannot be surpassed by either Spain or the United States in their best possible scenario.

The three countries mentioned still have two living surfers each, but the weight that France has already gained in the total score thanks to racing makes it unreachable by the rest of the nations.

With eight editions underway, the French team had achieved two second places in 2016 and 2017 and had placed third last year. Finally, now in El Salvador, they managed to lift their first cup.

Thus, the gallery of tournament-winning nations is distributed as follows:

2012: Australia
2013: Australia
2014: Australia
2015: United States
2016: Australia
2017: Australia
2018: Australia
2019: France

In eight editions, only three countries have managed to lift the trophy.

The World Championships continue tomorrow with the consecration of the SUP champions and the awarding of prizes for the seven disciplines in two genders that were contested over eight days of the championship.

Among the Hispanic athletes, Vania Torres of Peru had an impeccable performance and made it to the final of the main event, putting her one step away from the medals and with one more life in case she loses, as she falls to the final of the repechage.

Iballa Ruano Moreno of Spain managed to advance to the semi-final of the repechage and is two steps away from the grand final.

Max Torres of Puerto Rico and Guillermo Carracedo of Spain also made it to the semi-finals of the repechage and are two steps away from the medals.

Tomorrow the champions will be crowned.
