Franco-Mexican Marco Mignot made it to the Young Guns final
And he goes to Slater's pool to decide the championship
Sayulita, Mexico resident Marco Mignot was chosen by the 2018 Young Guns jury of pros Leo Fioravanti and Kanoa Igarashi to decide the title of champion at Slater Pool on July 27.
Mignot qualified for the final thanks to the videos he posted on Instagram, which later made it into the eight finalists and which now gave him the golden ticket to contest the final alongside Frenchman Justin Becret, American Jet Schilling and Brazilian Samuel Pupo.
The winners were actually the top three, as Pupo, the defending champion of the tournament, was chosen as a wild card.
The competition format at the Surf Ranch has not yet been determined.
