Frederico Morais took the European slot and is now one foot and a half into Tokyo 2020
If he qualifies for the CT or the World Surfing Games 2020, the next available slot would go to the German Leon Glatzer

Portugal's Frederico Morais put one and a half feet into Tokyo 2020 today after ensuring he will be the best European at these ISA World Surfing Games presented by Vans.
Germany's Leon Glatzer, Italy's Angelo Bonomelli and Spain's Vicente Romero all fell in the eighth round of the repechage, leaving Morais as the only European in the competition.
“It’s great news, I’m super happy, but I’m still in the championship so I want to focus on that and then celebrate,” Morais told DUKE after exiting the main event series in which he was defeated by Kelly Slater and Kolohe Andino.
Morais' situation is interesting because he is competing partially in the CT (with poor results) but if he manages to qualify through that means or through the 2020 World Surfing Games, he will use that slot and leave the place to the German Leon Glatzer.
Next in line is Italian Angelo Bonomelli and next is Spaniard Vicente Romero.
