Jeremy Flores has just won the ninth stage of the world tour, the Quiksilver Pro France, which ended in the shallows of La Graviere. From start to finish, the local rider gave Italo Ferreira no chance, who tried but failed.

With just a few seconds left in the series, a right-hand bomb came to the Frenchman who barreled deep and went out at 200 per hour to drive the entire beach crazy. It was worth 9,67 which he later backed up with a one and a little bit.

Meanwhile, Italo tried and tried but couldn't get over it.

However, with 12 minutes remaining, Flores, who waited patiently for another right, found it and made life more difficult for Ferreira after tubing to get a 5,33.

Ferreira was looking for a 9,51 as a priority, but he never got it.

The result marks the Frenchman's first ever home win, catapulting him to ninth place in the rankings and a sure bet for Tokyo 2020.

Speaking before the final, he said that this was something he had been missing in his career and that he could retire peacefully after this tournament. And he hadn't won yet.

Italo had one last attempt in the final seconds, he did one of those incredible aerials but the shorebreak knocked him off the board when he landed.

The beach exploded when the French victory was announced, and Jeremy exploded too. It was his first victory in France but also the first for a Frenchman in the French CT.

In the first interview Jeremy said he couldn't believe he had won in France. Later, on the podium, he grabbed the microphone from Joe Turpel's hand and spoke in French to the entire audience who applauded non-stop.

He dedicated the trophy to Pierre Agnes, former CEO of Quiksilver who died in a sea accident.

The ceremony ended in a very moving way with the audience singing La Marseillaise a cappella.
