The waiting period for the 2025 Punta Galea Challenge will take place between October 15 and December 31, the event organizers announced today after the media presentation.

The event will feature 30 competitors, 12 of whom will be Basque, another will be Twiggy Baker, and another will be Justine Dupont, Laura Enever, and Laura Coviella, who will be newcomers to the women's category at the championship.

"I don't know the wave and I'm not going in with high expectations, but it's already wonderful to be able to rub shoulders with surfers like Justine or Australian Laura Enever. I think the level of surfers the event brings together is incredible," Coviella said today.

The event director, big rider and talented surfer Adrián Fernandez de Valderrama, detailed what he'll be looking for: "We will be studying storms and weather reports in detail, looking for the perfect forecast that combines the ideal sea, wind, and swell conditions, predicting giant waves of around six meters high, clean and consistent, to the delight of participants and the public. The final date will therefore not be announced until 48 hours before the event."

The event will distribute 30.000 euros.
