From quarantine to Pico Alto: The return of surfing in Peru was packed with action

A review of what has happened in these days of flexibility and permission of sport in one of the most surfing countries on planet earth

At first there was a bit of uncertainty about whether surfing was completely open. Some people went into the water and others, not knowing what to do, stayed away for a while longer.

The horizon indicated that a big swell was coming in... The confirmed permit had to be on time because otherwise another swell would go away without being surfed.

It happened and for some the first session after 80 days out of the water was at a very challenging Pico Alto.

The session had several bombs being surfed in the classic break south of Lima.

Others chose calmer sessions like Caballeros, to warm up for the stormy weather that will continue to hit the southern hemisphere this winter.

There were many very happy people these days in the country of the Incas.
