From today you can surf in Peru

Resolution of the Peruvian Sports Institute enables the practice of individual sports for 60 minutes in places within a maximum of three kilometers from homes

After more than 70 days of quarantine, several of the best waves in the world will be surfed again starting today according to a resolution from the Peruvian Sports Institute published yesterday to which DUKE was able to access.

"From tomorrow, from 05:00 to 18:00, individual sports activities (walking, jogging, running, yoga, etc.) may be carried out for no more than 60 minutes and no more than three kilometers from home," explained an official source.

According to what some surfers told DUKE, word spread quickly and there were already people in the water at several of the waves south of Lima.

“The sea is rough but it will rise tomorrow,” a surfer explained to DUKE.

It gave room for a warm-up before it gets more demanding.

In Peru, there are 175.000 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 4.767 deaths and more than 69.000 recoveries.
