Gabriel Huerta, the 13-year-old Mexican who snorts in Puerto Rico
“My dream is to surf big waves and ride some big tubes. I want to prepare myself and my goal is to be a complete surfer, to be competitive both in tubes and ripping,” he told DUKE.
Gabriel Huerta is 13 years old and the other day he caught one of the best, or the best wave of the day in Puerto Escondido. An achievement reserved for a few people, the usual ones who dominate the peak in Zicatela.
He went into the water with local super Jafet Ramos and, with the advice of a great teacher, ended up finding this nice tube.
He came down, clipped the edge, got a good line, and ended up getting a good tube.
As he told DUKE, he “likes to surf tubular waves, my favorite spot is Pascuales, which is like my second home. For me, tube riding is the best. I am currently preparing for the CONADE Games competition representing my state of Colima.”
“My dream is to surf big waves and ride some big tubes. I want to prepare myself and my goal is to be a complete surfer, to be competitive both in tubes and ripping. I am inspired by John John Florence, Gabriel Medina and Jack Robinson. And my inspiration in big waves is Greg Long, Kai Lenny Jafet Ramos,” he concluded.
